Tamara Woolgar, Grade 4 Teacher

Personal Profile:

My husband, sons and I have called Ladner home for the past 30 years. We have been blessed to be part of the wonderful Cedar Park Church community over the last 20 years, and have served in a variety of capacities including singing on the worship team. I am an avid outdoor adventurer and fill my free time with hiking, (particularly the Grouse Grind), trail running, and spending time with my family. My younger son will be entering his third year of Nursing at Trinity Western University, and my older son is currently working in the IT industry. Both of my boys thoroughly enjoyed attending the vibrant, beautiful communities of Delta Christian and Richmond Christian Schools.

Professional:

I graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, and then received my BC Teaching Certificate upon completion of a Bachelors of Education at UBC. I was fortunate to receive a teaching position at Delta Christian School immediately thereafter. For the past 11 years I have been working as a teacher on call for Richmond Christian School, (all campuses), and as a private tutor/piano teacher. Previous to that, I had the pleasure of teaching grades 3-7 at DCS for 20 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of family and community that have been created at these schools.

Philosophical:

As a Christian School teacher my strong desire and passion is to live out my faith in my classroom and help every child discover and develop their unique abilities, talents and God- given gifts, recognizing every student as God’s image bearer and intrinsically valuable. It is my great hope that, should all else be forgotten, students would take with them a deep desire to be lifelong followers of Jesus.
