Personal Profile
I grew up in the Burnaby/New Westminster area and have lived in Tsawwassen since 2019. I enjoy exploring the beach, drinking tea, and playing games with my fun-loving husband and three lively sons. We are part of Tsawwassen Alliance Church, where I serve in the children’s ministry.
I love education. I love learning. I love teaching. I see education as not simply preparation for life, but fundamental to life itself. As a teacher, I get to meaningfully intersect with the young lives of students to awaken their curiosity, encourage their gifts, and uncover their potential. I am thankful for faithful educators from John Knox Christian School, Pacific Academy, and YWAM Kona who shaped my educational journey.
Professional Profile
My career endeavours have been rich and varied. I studied at Simon Fraser University and earned degrees in Psychology and Education. Early in my career, I taught grade two at Vancouver Christian School. In 2013, my husband and I started Peppermint Toast Publishing and have published over 14 children’s books. Prior to joining DCS, I taught my own three sons at home and initiated an outdoor, experiential program for home learners with the Delta School District. Taken all together, I’m convinced that “Every experience God gives us, every person he puts in our lives, is the perfect preparation for the future only he can see” (Corrie ten Boom).
Philosophical Profile
At the heart of Christian Education I find a community of educators who model godly living, cultivate Biblical perspectives, and foster an environment that values each student. Administrators, teachers and support staff are not only competent professionals, but are examples of Christ-like character. We do not simply add on prayer or Bible study as peripheral activities, but integrate Spiritual practice into the very fabric of instruction. We recognize each student as God’s image-bearer, and intrinsically valuable. My family is honoured to join and contribute to the vibrant learning community at Delta Christian School.
