Bethany Goossen

Bethany Goossen, Learning Assistance Teacher

After working at DCS from 2018-2020, I returned part time in 2022 as the Intermediate Learning Assistance Teacher. I grew up in Vancouver but have called Ladner home since 1995. Throughout my education, I attended both public and private schools and see the value of being part of a Christian learning community. I have a Masters of Special Education and am a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. I previously worked as a Behaviour Analyst in an early intervention Autism program and as an Early Childhood Clinician in a Child and Youth Mental Health program through the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

In the summer of 2022, I became a first-time foster parent and welcomed a baby girl into my home. When I am not working, we enjoy spending time together going for walks, playing at the park and attending various activities to support her growth and development.

I am passionate about supporting children in the variety of ways that they learn, whether that is providing adaptations for academic work, focusing on their social-emotional skills, supporting their physical and mental health, or helping them grow in their faith.
