DESCRIPTION:This is a parent workshop co-hosted by Delta Christian and Sacred Heart and led by Alongside You Counselling\, who have been supporting students at DCS the past few years. This workshop is open to parents of students at DCS and Sacred Heart and is free of charge. \nLocation: Sacred Heart School\, 3900 Arthur Dr\, Delta\, BC V4K 3N5 \nPositive Parenting Workshop Details: \nAndrew Neufeld\, Co-Founder\, Executive Director\, and Senior Counsellor\, from Alongside You\, and Rebecca Farnell\, our new school counsellor\, are presenting a Positive Parenting workshop on Wednesday\, January 29th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Sacred Heart School.  \nThis Positive Parenting workshop will guide caregivers to teach children and youth how to become responsible\, respectful and resourceful members of their communities. Positive parenting teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults. This workshop will teach strategies to help children to feel a sense of connection\, belonging and significance. The workshop provides resources to be kind and firm so that there is mutual respect and encouragement even when discipline is needed.  \nPositive parenting considers what children are thinking\, feeling\, learning and deciding about themselves and what to do in the future to not only survive but especially to thrive. This workshop will teach important social and life skills so that children can learn to problem solve\, cooperate and contribute to the home\, school and larger community.
